We have very exciting news to share! Christian Revival Church Association is now officially incorporated as a non-profit in the US. We are now able to receive donations directly sent to CRCA. We thank God for our friends and partners who have helped us in the process and those who have helped us manage donations and even carry funds back and forth from Liberia.

We truly see this as forward motion, a blessing from God. Below is our US PO Box:

Also we are working towards updating and modifying our blogsite to allow more information, pictures, and even more ways that you can be involved if you are interested! Our friend Gene has done a super job of getting us started and continually updating our blog (most times surprising me with the speed in which our new updates find their place on www.crca-liberia.blogspot.com).

Now God has brought another friend alongside him to help with this big project. Audrey Froelich has come from Virginia to be with us in Liberia for 4 months to continue to collaborate with Gene and to work on this project to help us to keep our information current and accesible and to allow our friends and partners options and information for involvement with us...praying, giving, and/or coming! Please pray with us in this exciting and challenging work!

The reality of Luke 10:2 is very clear to us as the ministry efforts and the fruit grow..."The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few." Please do pray earnestly with us to the Lord of the harvest to add laborers for the harvest here in Liberia!

He is faithful and we are thankful and blessed! Thank you for rejoicing with us in God's work in us and around us and for praying with us in our struggles and sorrows.

Conference goes international

After months of intense praying, planning, and laboring…it is hard to believe that our annual conference has come and gone, but not without leaving a powerful impression on many lives! Starting on Monday, December 27, groups of excited conference attendees gathered at the Bible Way Mission School in Monrovia (this year’s conference site) from locations across Liberia, the bordering nations of Sierre Leone and Guinea, and even as far as Austria, Belarus, the USA, and representation from India; it truly was an international conference!

As guests registered and found their lodging places (ranging from dorm facilities to floor space on classroom floors), brothers and sisters were eager to meet and fellowship with one another, this big family of God from across the country and even the globe! The big cow that was purchased from Guinea for delicious conference food had been butchered and the cassava leaf with beef soup and rice were cooking.

The Christian flag was proudly lifted in front and above, and the nations’ flags fell in line behind. Prayers of thanksgiving and commitment were offered, hearts prepared, and anticipation overflowing.

The growing group settled into benches set up under a thatch awning, with God’s own canopy of stars not seemingly far above that, as they were drawn into the theme for the conference. Pastor Rob Prokop, the senior pastor of C.I.G. (church) in Vienna, Austria and our conference keynote speaker gave a beautiful opening message on the theme “It Shall Be Well”, taken from Scripture text in Romans 8:18 and 2 Corinthians 4:7:18.

The daily activities were back to back, to be sure, so as not to miss out on a moment of our precious time together!

Mornings were devoted to worshipping this amazing God who loves us with such unquenchable love and who has filled us with hope beyond explanation. Our sister and new friend, Rika Grier, a worship leader at her home church in California, joined us, and led us to praise our Jesus with joy! Singers and dancers from different Liberian tribal dialects led us according to their own styles and traditions, as well as some beautiful harmonic contributions from our friends from Guinea & Sierre Leone, and even a surprise song in Russian from our new Belarusian friends!

Austrian Pastor Rob Prokop

Pastor Rob taught us of the love and example of the perfect “big brother” Jesus, who even met his own death in His willingness to search out and see his younger brothers and sisters come back to the Father. Small groups met discussing each lesson in various dialects allowing each person to understand and process deeply, fully open to the movement and changing power of the Holy Spirit. The children also had their small groups; playing games, doing projects, singing songs, and learning about Our Hero Jesus and His Eternal Kingdom.

Cara Schukoske leads teachers session

Each afternoon, a dozen “special interest sessions” met in different locations for special training. Sister Cara Schukoske led a much anticipated session for our CRCA school teachers on curriculum development and being a role model for students.

Our partners and siblings in Christ from Sierre Leone, Pastor Alphonso & Nana Barry, captured the attention of those interested in evangelism as they shared Jesus’ heart for the lost and their own personal dramatic conversions from Islam.

Our partners in the Gospel, Don & Lois Sobkoviak, with S.A.N.D. International shared on Physical and Spiritual fruitfulness while their daughter Rudina joined our own CRCA speakers to teach our young adults and youth about true love God’s way.

Other groups converged on themes like “Leading in Love”, “Shepherding the Hearts of Children”, “The Heart of Worship”, “A Servant Heart” (for Deacons), and “Powerful Prayer.”

After some intense discussion, personal application questions, and prayer for growth, minds rested and the playing fields and courts heated up with some competitive matches of kickball, volleyball, basketball, and soccer.

Topping the highlights for evening festivities was the CRCA Vision Casting Campfire. CRCA Mission Director Dennis Aggrey shared the heart of CRCA and the vision for the future, re-kindling the fire for knowing Christ and making Him known across the world.

We were challenged with the effectiveness of spiritual multiplication over spiritual addition…sharing Jesus should be a way of life for every Christian, and at that, our joy to do so!

Cheers of rejoicing were heard across the camp as we celebrated our Christ inspired vision for the pre-reached (by God’s grace, for many salvation is impending!) and the fruit that God has been bringing in difficult frontiers (like Guinea and the Buluyema Forest).

The grand finale of this surreal conference was the Baptism of 21 believers (20 Liberian and 1 American) in the Atlantic Ocean on the final day of 2010; we can think of no better way to thank God for the hope that we have then to witness such a resurrection-picture! Jesus is alive and so are we!

The battle is won, the victory is sure; we are FREE…free to give, free to forgive, free to serve, free to live basking in God’s rich love for us and loving others with a supernatural love…free to believe that no present suffering is worthy of comparison to all that God has freely given us in Christ Jesus and all that awaits us for all of eternity…such freedom!

CRCA Prayer Requests

Kpelle Worship

1) Praise God for the fruit of the conference and ask that its impact would be further reaching than we can imagine! Ask that the word of God would continue to encourage us, dwelling richly and deeply in us. Ask that our love for Jesus and others would grow.

2) Our Regional Coordinator in the Yangayah Region died just before the conference. Please pray for his family; the church family; the strengthening and encouragement of the church in that region; the leadership, direction, and growth of the ministry in Yangayah.

3) Pray with us in the vision that God has given CRCA to continue into 2011…to strengthen our existing ministry and to continue to expand the ministry by the power and work of the Holy Spirit. Continue to lift up our new frontiers: Guinea, the Buluyema Forest, and Cape Mount. Also pray for the strengthening and stability of our current churches. Ask God for the salvation of many, for discipleship and growth, and for leaders to be raised up. Pray for our pastors and evangelists. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Please ask for more laborers! Also pray for more new frontiers!

4) Pray for our partners and the mission teams that will be coming to Liberia in 2011; specifically 3 teams coming in February: a team from CIG Vienna, Austria to work on agricultural projects in Kpondeh Town; a team coming from SP UK to work with the Operation Christmas Child project; and our new partners, Nurses for the Nations coming to do medical mission and to discuss how God might use our ministries as a team in the future for His purposes.

5) Pray for our sister Audrey who has come from Virginia to work with us for the next four months; she requests prayer for God’s will and guidance for her time in Liberia; wisdom in decision making while in this different culture; and her work with CRCA (specifically website design).

6) Pray for Dennis and a team that left for Lofa County yesterday. They will be working on the foundational construction for the additional classrooms and auditorium space being added to Konia Christian Revival School and doing support ministry with our churches.

7) Pray for funding needed for a shipment of some useful materials being sent to CRCA Liberia through Service to Servants.

Badezu, Buluyema Forest & Guinea

News from the follow-up trip on the frontier of Badezu deep in the Buluyema Forest of Liberia, West Africa…

After God blessed our team (Liberians, Austrians, Americans, and Belarusians) with the opportunity to fly into Badezu by chopper on a one day trip, Pastor Willie Johnson was able to lead a team of 5 back on the long hike to the Buluyema Forest for a week long follow-up ministry there. We received a call upon Pastor Willie’s return that the trip was blessed and productive. The team was able to visit homes from village to village and host daily morning devotions and daily evening worship services. During their time there, 28 people prayed to receive Christ and the Sunday morning worship service had 68 adults in attendance from Badezu alone. There is one brother in position to continue some discipleship and teaching while he is in Buluyema.

Work on a water-well for the community has been started, and also eager hands are joining together to make blocks to be used in the construction of a building for worship and guest lodging! Please continue to praise God for His heart that all might know Him and belong to Him and pray for the discipleship and growth and encouragement for our new brothers and sisters!

After our fruitful visit to Guinea just about a week ago, Pastor Harris (our pastor in Kpassagizia) has been able to cross the border for Bible study in the biggest town across the Guinea/Liberia border! The few believers there have planned with Pastor Harris to have a weekly Bible study on Wednesday evenings in their town. The Gospel attack across the border that we have been praying about for so long now is really coming to life—please pray for continued laborers in the field…the harvest is ripe indeed!

Luyema & Borkeza

The Scripture says in 2 Corinthian 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”

A recent CRCA church plant in northern Liberia is in a little town called Luyema. Brother Philip is our evangelist who visits this town. He is diligently teaching the word of God and demonstrating God’s love through his life style. He has seen the power of The Truth that sets people free. The current response to what God is doing there could easily be pulled straight from the Book of Acts. In those days a young slave girl was stopped from making money for her owners through predicting the future and fortune telling when Paul cast an evil spirit from her. Because of that the owners of the slave girl “seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to face the authorities” (Acts 16:16-21).

On the second Sunday in December of 2010, Dennis visited with this new church for worship. He was greeted happily by many (about 78 adults in attendance) of the new believers in Christ. Dennis tells of the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit in this new congregation. With all the excitement of changed lives, there were also some who were angry, including the town chief and his elders. After the worship service, the chief wanted to bring his complaint about the church. Dennis met with him to hear what he had to say. He explained that there was a man named Flomo Zayzay in the village that had always been getting drunk and creating disturbances in the community. The protocol for handling his misbehavior was to fine him. Since he rarely had the cash, the leaders would fine him for his possessions instead, one time even confiscating the tin sheets he was given by a relief organization to roof his house. Other times he would work on the chief and elders farms as a payment for his debts. After Brother Philip came to Luyema and this notorious troublemaker gave his life to Christ Jesus, he became a new creation in Christ and his mischief in the town stopped. Dennis was a bit puzzled…asking, “So aren’t you happy that this man is no longer causing you trouble by doing evil in the town?” To which, the elder replied that he wasn’t happy because he was losing money from the fines that Mr. Zayzay’s conduct brought to him in the past. May God continue to change the means of income in this place and transform the precious people there with His glorious Gospel!

While the Kingdom of God is advancing, Satan continues to attack. Many of you have been praying for Pastor Samson Jones and our brothers and sisters in Borkeza; thank you! Pastor Samson, his wife Alice, and their small daughter, Rebecca Weedor, were able to join us for a great time of encouragement during our annual conference. While at the conference, Samson got news from Borkeza that the town elders decided to take a strong and more official stand against his “rebellion”. (For those who aren’t aware, a few months back Pastor Samson respectfully refused to pay a “tax” that was placed on all Borkeza residents to fund the visit of a “witch doctor” to the town.) The day after Samson returned from the conference, they made proclamation through the masked devil that anyone who talked to Samson and his family, sold goods to them, or bought goods from them would be fined. Samson and his family are suffering to buy what they need and his family business (a small drug store) is now providing next to nothing for the family to live on. However, amazingly, God continues to provide and attendance at their daily Bible studies continues to increase! Samson remains hopeful, trusting in God, and rejoicing over how God is using this struggle to bring others into the church to hear God’s Word. Dennis just returned from Lofa; while in Borkeza he was able to meet with the chiefs to schedule a more formal meeting to take place in a few weeks between our church leadership and the town elders. Please pray for this upcoming meeting and pray for the Jones’ family and for the trial before them; ask for encouragement, strength, wisdom, love, and spiritual fruit!

Borkeza is the town where CRCA church members have suffered ostracism and persecution recently.
Read about it here. But our God is a mighty God!

This morning God brought a wonderful breakthrough, a rainbow after the storm!

Thanks for all of your prayers and encouragement for our brothers and sisters in Borkeza. It has been challenging there over these last months. As some of you know, the leaders of the town put sanctions against the Christians there, saying that anyone who spoke to them would be fined.

Although they didn't ever officially start to follow through on that, many family members and friends of the Christians started to ostracize them.

Pastor Samson called today with a joyful report of a baptism service in which 21 people were baptized! The church rejoiced dancing through the town and even others were joining in. They also had their first communion service ever.

God is faithful! Thanks for your continued prayers and love.

Dear Friends:

We greet you in Jesus’ glorious name!

The above passage, taken from 2 Corinthians, has been chosen as part of our text for the upcoming CRCA 2010 Annual Conference, themed “It Shall Be Well”. This text speaks directly into the current situation in one of our churches. We want to update you about the enemy’s attack on our brothers and sisters in Christ in Borkeza, Lofa County, and especially to ask you for fervent prayers on their behalf.

Pastor Samson Jones called this morning and told us that a recent struggle between the Christians (specifically CRCA church) and the town leaders/traditional religious leaders has escalated. The town elders and traditional religious leaders decided to bring a “medicine man” (witch doctor/voodoo man) to the town to help expel evil practices and “bad” medicine (poisons) from within. They ordered every person to pay a set amount towards bringing the man to the town. Pastor Samson and Christians from the CRCA church in Borkeza respectfully explained that they would not be able to support or pay towards the presence of the “medicine man”. The pastors and members of the other two churches in town all paid their contributions. The believers and Pastor Samson were kind, but firmly stood their ground….they would not serve two masters.

After two weeks, the town leaders did not relent and the CRCA church members, too, did not give in. The leaders placed sanctions against CRCA, threatening that anyone in the town who even speaks to Pastor Samson, his family, or CRCA church members will be fined.

Lofa Road breakdown a divine appointment

*Heart-felt Greetings to you in Christ Jesus our LORD!*

Although the dry season is almost here now, it wasn’t during our recent trip to Lofa County! The road was already rough and the Land Cruiser was not 100% and the rain kept coming. At one point Dennis said, “This car cannot take us to Konia today.” Not understanding the mind of God and His bigger-than-our-own plans, some of us prayed that He would show His power by miraculously carrying us directly to Konia. When we could go on no longer, we turned around just in time to have the Land Cruiser completely breakdown a short distance from a small village called Dr. Mason Farm. When it was clear that we would be staying for the night, we cooked dinner and the families there were kind enough to give all of us places to sleep.

The Evangelism Team set up the big screen and their equipment and the local people spread the word to the neighboring houses and villages that The Jesus Film would be shown. Little did we know that the miracle God was going to do was far greater than the one that we asked him for. That night God opened the eyes of 18 people who came that night to follow Jesus and they prayerfully committed their lives to Him! God did show His power in a way mightier than we knew to ask or could even imagine!

The next day, after passing through some tough muddy spots, our team arrived in Konia before dark. The Evangelism Team was on the road again with a packed schedule for evangelistic efforts around Lofa County through use of The Jesus Film (video). During the 10-day trip, the team was able, by God’s grace, to do eight film showings in seven different places, with the Gospel-proclaiming efforts being followed up by the local CRCA churches and pastors. In one big city, Zorzor, nearly 1,000 people turned up to watch Jesus speaking Lorma and Kpelle (the local dialects) in the presentation of the Gospel of Luke brought to living color through The Jesus Film. The pastors and evangelists found the task of getting an exact count of the droves of people practically impossible and of those almost 1,000 viewers, more than 100 confessed Jesus Christ as their Savior that night! Thanks be to God!

Back at the Konia base, the CRCA support staff members along with the new Lofa County Regional Coordinator (Pastor Zubah Stevens), were hosting meetings and working closely with the Konia Christian Revival Church and school. The church has a strong presence in Konia and is known for loving and helping the community. Bible studies and fellowship meetings are held weekly outside various church members’ homes and daily morning devotions are held at the church at 5:30AM every morning.

Upon sitting in on a few of these weekly activities and observing the Christians’ lives, it is clear to see that they are not content to simply hold meetings and programs, but they truly want to gain wisdom and understanding from God’s Word and then practically apply it in their daily lives. What a joy to be together with this deepening and multiplying body of Brothers and Sisters!

The Konia CRCA School, likewise, is an example of constant and growth and blessing. There are currently 447 students from Nursery to 9^th Grade. The school has become highly respected in Lofa County and beyond; even Muslim parents are sending their children to the school in hopes of a better education and a brighter future. Recently a representative of the Ministry of Education recommended that the school apply for a government grant for a project to construct more classrooms with the intention of extending Konia Christian Revival to high school level.

God and the government gave favor, the money was allotted, and the project is slated to start early next year. The school is step by step becoming self-sustaining and some of the money that it and the other CRCA schools have generated is being used to start a new school this year—Christian Revival School in Jungle Farm in Margibi County! We pray that God will continue to use CRCA to minister to children and their parents and that we might be part of raising up disciples for Jesus and giving them all of the tools to equip them to do anything that God might call them to in the future!

Thanks be to our God, the Creator and giver of wisdom, for His ways that are above ours and for His Sovereignty in all things!

Pray for our upcoming Annual Conference (Dec. 27-31). Ask for unity and success in the planning and preparing; our first planning meeting is scheduled for Thursday (9/30). Our theme this year is “It Shall Be Well” taken from Romans 8:18 and 2 Corinthians 4:7-18.

Pray for the CRCA Evangelism team—for strength, for fruit, for wisdom, and for discipleship/follow-up efforts. The team has specifically asked for prayer for the new believers, that they would be firmly rooted in the Truth and follow Jesus throughout their lives.

Praise God for our 7 CRCA Schools. Please pray for Yassah David (Project Coordinator), Zubah Aggrey (School Coordinator), the principals, administrators, teachers, and students. Please pray that our kids would be “trained in the way they should go” and equipped to serve God in any way that He may lead them in the future.

Please pray for our Brother and Sister, David and Judy Humphries, who will be leaving the US on Saturday (10/2) to come to Liberia to serve with CRCA for two months. Please also pray for other individuals and teams who God is raising up to work with us later this year also and for our plans and schedule for next year.

Dennis and Vania in South Carolina

Dennis and Vania Aggrey had a great, but seemingly short time in the States, visiting friends in ministry and family in Wisconsin. They headed back to Liberia on September 4.

While they were here, one new friend at a church in Rocky Mount, NC, covered the legal expenses for them to file for non-profit incorporation of CRCA in North Carolina. Once that is approved, they can then apply for tax exemption with the Internal Revenue Service. More coming on that.

Why set up a US office for CRCA? Because many in the States want to give to CRCA, and there has not been a direct route to do that. Always it has to be given through a local church or another ministry like Samaritan's Purse or Water of Life. Now with a legal entity in the US, donors can give directly to CRCA and have a more direct access to accountability and ministry on the ground.

But CRCA is not a helpless group of churches. Recent accounting of the ministry in Liberia has shown that CRCA is now generating 45% of its income from the churches themselves. As that percentage grows, CRCA can continue to focus donated funds on the frontiers of what God is doing.

The ministry is growing very quickly, now with sixty-two churches. No one really knows how many preaching points exist since the local churches are starting them regularly. Lorma people from Guinea are crossing the border into Liberia to hear the gospel and attend CRCA churches.

Many of them are asking, "When will you come to Guinea?" One of Dennis' first assignments when he returns is to make an investigational trip to Guinea to plant more churches. Already CRCA has contacts in Sierra Leone and are planting churches there, and there is a possibility of work as well in the Gambia, farther away.

In South Carolina

Continue to pray with Dennis and Vania as they settle in to the daily activities at home in Liberia. Pray for harmony among the pastors and staff. Pray that God would provide resources to handle the growth.

Paul Aggrey has died . . .

Dear Friends:

It is with sadness of heart and yet joy of spirit and hope of what is to come that I write asking for your prayers. It seems that Jesus has finished the house that He built for our brother, Paul Aggrey, and wanted him to come and occupy it now. I got a call from family yesterday that Paul died after being rushed to the Zorzor hospital. Paul is Dennis' younger brother in Konia. Those of you who have met him know that his whole life was committed to serving God, leading and teaching in the church, and loving the children of Konia. He was a teacher at Konia Christian Revival School, the evangelist for Dorzinelor Christian Revival Church, an active leader of morning devotions at Konia CRC, the leader for the Children's Saturday Bible Studies, and the overseer for some CRCA projects, including the rabbits. He was kind and gentle and well loved by those who knew him. He was young and had hopes and plans to attend African Bible College starting this summer.

Paul is now free from the sin, and pain, and suffering of this world. He is safe and happy. He is in the place that he was created for--Heaven, and with the One that he was created for--God! Rejoice with him!

The Aggrey family, the Christian Revival family, and the Konia community are suffering loss and pain as they try to understand and are missing a dear brother, teacher, son, "father", and friend. Truly only God can fill the gap that is left. Please pray for strength, encouragement, and great faith and hope. Dennis is still deep in Buluyema Forest and someone from Konia was sent to carry the news to him. Please ask God to comfort Dennis and to give him wisdom about what to do. Since he is the big brother of the family he will be the one to help coordinate details. Please also pray for the family members in Monrovia that will not be able to get to Konia. We will all be meeting at our house tonight for a time of prayer together. Please ask God that this time of prayer would be powerful and meaningful and would be used by the Holy Spirit to comfort and remind us of the truth--we Christians don't mourn like those who don't have hope.

Buluyema Forest

Dennis called me from Lofa County and asked me to update you about the exciting plans and the prayer requests of the mission team that he is leading this week. We praise God for opening this door! For some time now, CRCA has been asking God for the people of the Buluyema Forest…for the opportunity to carry the Gospel and to start a church as new brothers and sisters are born into the Family of God. The people in the Buluyema Forest have no church, no Christian influence; they are unreached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ to this point. The primary religious practice in the area is animism; specifically including the worship of catfish.

God has graciously called and equipped a 3-man team from CIG, Austria to join the 12 person team from CRCA, Liberia. The team, even as I write, is in the middle of an 8-9 hour hike deep into the bush (jungle) of the Buluyema Forest behind Konia in Lofa County. As Liberia is now in the rainy season, the terrain that they meet up with in the bush may vary from challenging to very difficult in places. The team will make their first camp at a “hub” village called Libilibah, which will hopefully be the center for the future ministry and further church planting as God continues to open up the forest. They will spend two days in the village showing The Jesus Film and The God Story in the Lorma language. They will clearly share the Gospel and take time to share the truth of Scripture with the community. There will be opportunities for follow up with those who put their faith in Jesus Christ and two CRCA evangelists will stay in the village to continue with the spiritual agriculture—that is, the planting and watering! The rest of the team will continue the journey to 3-4 additional villages, proclaiming the Good News of the Gospel through their love, their words, and the film showings. After ten days the team will make the trek back to Konia, God willing, leaving behind a new and multiplying church!

Joyful greetings to you, our family in Jesus Christ--our Risen and Returning King!

The setting is a place called Peter’s Town—a small town that has faced some Goliath-size trials and challenges, but like David, has seen the power of God to defend His children and defeat His foes. Although the CRCA church in Peter’s Town was one of the first, the road to growth and multiplication has been rocky. Some leadership changes and spiritual attacks, in the form of evil curses, threats, and property damage from within the community, put the young church in a critical position, totally dependent on God for help.

CRCA, under the leadership of Dennis Aggrey, continued to seek and trust God while offering guidance to the struggling church. Blessedly, in February, 2009, God supplied a strong, faithful, missions-hearted pastor to lead the church and oversee the Monrovia region. Pastor Zinah Williams and his wife, Fatu, moved into the community and faced the struggles head on, on their knees.

Pastor Williams met and began sharing the gospel and mentoring two young Muslim men. The two became followers of Christ and evangelists alongside Pastor Williams, joining the leadership in the church and reaching other local communities with Jesus’ love. Some of the fruit of their labor includes two new churches planted in Brown’s Town and Jungle Farm.

As the church continued to grow in number, God moved the local Firestone authorities to give land and Ma Kebbeh, an older woman in the community, to freely give up her garden for the construction of a church building. Not only did Ma Kebbeh, give her cash crop despite family discouragement, but she gave her heart to Jesus and joined the CRCA church family.

God also brought a partner, Water of Life, to put in a well for clean drinking water in the community. Then in His generosity, He provided the resources and funding for the construction of the church building through many individuals and partners. Church members, CRCA school students and teachers, and a few community members, young and old, eagerly joined in to help with the construction, joyfully working side by side in unity.

Digging in!

Even though the outcome is sure, the enemy doesn’t give up quickly and so the battle was on! Continued fight from some community members caused the authorities to put a stop on the construction for some time. CRCA, Pastor Williams, and Peter’s Town church members persevered and persisted and prayed. They held evangelistic outreach in the community, joined with Operation Christmas Child to bless local children with Christmas gifts, hosted a youth day, and joyfully took the responsibility of hosting the CRCA Women’s Conference in July, 2010. Because of their faith and belief in the power of God, they couldn’t relent!

The journey was long, but God is faithful and on Easter, 2010 we celebrated Jesus’ victory over death and His victories in Peter’s Town as we dedicated the completed building and the true church back to God. It was really an entire weekend of rejoicing as CRCA church members from churches across Liberia, including a group of 76 students and teachers from Lofa, joined together to take part of the dedication and sporting events, delicious goat soup, singing, dancing, and beautiful fellowship.

Sunday morning before the ribbon cutting and worship service a parade of Christians marched through the streets of Peter’s Town singing praise to the King of Kings and reminding the community of God’s faithfulness to His children. Partner Kendell Kaufeldt, Samaritan’s Purse Country Director, cut the ribbon and the church entered in jubilation. Choirs sang, the Peter’s Town story was told, and the people praised the God who is able!

CRCA Mission Director, Dennis Aggrey, preached on the Temple as the body. “Jesus answered the Jews, ‘Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up’.” (John 2) The temple that Jesus spoke of was His body. Also, believers are the temple of God (1 Cor. 3:16). The “church” that we speak of today is His body too. “And He [Jesus] is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything He might be preeminent. For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether on earth or in Heaven, making peace by the blood of His cross.” (Colossians 1:18-20)

The building is truly a blessing from God, but the Church is the Christians that persevere through trials; work together trusting God; daily following Jesus Christ, the Head; loving the lost; and eagerly awaiting the Final return of the blessed Redeemer! We were encouraged to continue loving one another and giving all of ourselves to the one who gave all of Himself to bring us back to God!

· Thank God for His kindness and faithfulness displayed in Peter’s Town. Pray for the continued momentum and growth of believers there and for salvation for the lost in the community.

· Praise God for 20 Acres of land near the new University of Liberia that God has provided for CRCA ministry and for His leading for the future plans for the land.

· Pray for our 3 mission teams coming to CRCA from overseas in May.

· Praise God for the favor He is giving CRCA with the traditional leaders of Kpassagizia, the town on the Liberia-Guinea border.

Yangayah and Cape Mount

We have just returned to Monrovia after a challenging and exciting CRCA regional conference hosted in the Yangayah region. The evangelism team, using the Jesus Film, was sent ahead to do two weeks of mass evangelism and discipleship, which was very successful.

On Thursday, Feb. 25 the CRCA office staff joined the Evangelism team in Yangayah and met with members from all 7 of the CRCA churches in the Yangayah region for celebration in the Lord. Our time together included training in leading in small group Bible study and discussion, sustainable projects and community development, financial accountability with emphasis on reporting, and preparing the women for the upcoming conference. We really know the Holy Spirit was leading our time because there was real unity between the churches being developed as we sang and praised God and discussed what is happening in each church. We left feeling encouraged that a multiplying church movement is on the run in that region.

Unexpectedly the Lord has opened up a new field for ministry that we were not anticipating. Three months ago one of our pastors crossed the Lofa bridge to start the planting of a new church in Cape Mount County in an area called Gold Camp. During our conference, this church was highly represented and served as an encouragment to the rest of the body of Christ. They presently have 62 adults in attendance and about 37 children. They shared with the rest of the body about the opportunities in other Cape Mount villages around them that they are determined to reach with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It seems like CRCA will be focusing on doing more outreach and ministry among these Vai Muslims in the months to come. Please pray with us as we follow God's leading and direction regarding this.

By next week, me and Vania will be traveling up to Borkeza and Kpassagizia to help continue the church construction and discipleship ministry there with our young pastors and the women's ministry. We are hoping to take the opportunity to cross into Guinea for prayer walks and possible contacts with the men and women of peace in that area.

Praise God with us for the successful distribution of the Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes. God has blessed our ministry to be the one to spear head this children's ministry in Liberia. Our OCC team was able to distribute to 47,000 children so far! There are still a few more distributions left to be done. We plan to go to Suehn on Tuesday to do OCC distribution and to begin the construction of the kitchen and septic tank project for Jenna's House.

Please continue to pray for Vania and me as we seek to balance marriage life with the busyness of doing exciting things for God, as challenging as they can be.

“…However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the Gospel of God’s grace.” Acts 20:24

The “race” for CRCA this past month and a half has been much like a marathon, but in the running has always been the most important task of testifying to the glorious Gospel of God’s grace!

At the start of December, our friend, Jose, came to plan and discuss agriculture and solar power projects that he and a group of students from Clemson have been working on for CRCA.

Dennis and Jose went to Konia to do some research on the existing fish ponds and see how they might incorporate rice production into the fish ponds. The time was fruitful and Jose went back with a plan of action.

At the same time a team of CRCA Monrovia church volunteers as well as some of the teaching staff at the Brewerville Orphanage Home were preparing to host a Christmas Vacation Bible School for the children.

The theme was: “Happy Birthday Jesus!” They heard about Jesus’ birth and all those that were there to announce, welcome, and worship the newborn King.

The children were also able to receive bunk beds and a soccer ball as gifts to the orphanage home, but most important, they learned that it is great to give and that the gift God wants from them is for them to love Him with all of themselves—heart, soul, mind, and strength. (Mark 12:30)

On December 27^th, a convoy carrying CRCA youth and leaders from around the country headed to Konia for the first ever CRCA National Youth Conference. The theme for the conference was “Shine like Stars” (Ephesians 5:14-21 and Philippians 2:12-18).

The youth kicked off the festivities with welcome messages from their youth leaders and a parade. Pastor Willie Johnson of Konia and Dennis Aggrey, CRCA’s Mission Director, both gave challenging messages commissioning the youth to “Shine” for Jesus by living wisely, filled with the Spirit and knowing the Lord’s will and speaking the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the joy and boldness.

They also enjoyed sports competitions and working together on the church farm projects. The youth left encouraged, challenged, and looking ahead!

After returning to town on New Year’s Eve, CRCA ushered in 2010 the very next day in Grand Bassa County for the area’s Regional Conference.

In continuing with the “Operation Andrew” theme and sharing the heart of CRCA to be multiplying, discipling, and self-supporting, the churches were encouraged to boldly proclaim the Gospel and to work hard for the Lord.

They celebrated and worshiped Jesus together, Bassa-style! The church was blessed by the teaching and started making plans for practical application.

The day after Dennis returned from Bassa, we received a mission team from CIG in Vienna, Austria.

The group of 12 came unified and ready to work hard, loving the Lord, each other, and the people of Liberia.

We climbed the hill to Malawu once again where some of the team had gone the year before on their first mission with CRCA.

From there we headed to our project sites: God opened doors for the team to join with CRCA church members from around Lofa county to start construction on church buildings in two villages—Borkeza and Kpassagizia.

Along with the construction, the team helped with medical clinics, children’s ministry, preaching and training with local church leaders, agricultural project planning, relief supply distribution, and friendship building.

Each person had unique gifts and experiences and God didn’t allow anything to be wasted! God also gave us the joy of standing at the “Gateway to Guinea” (the road being built from Kpassagizia into Guinea) with great hope of Liberian missionaries soon carrying the Gospel of Jesus Christ to dispel the darkness across the border.

To date, Dennis is in Sierre Leone. Please lift him and the team up in your prayers as well as our brothers and sisters there, the furthering of the Gospel in that country, the future of ministry and partnerships with our friends there.

A different kind of rice Christian

UNLEASHED: to be free; uncontained, able to run, able to move about freely; without restriction, restraint, or tight control; moving with power and force

As Liberia celebrated Thanksgiving in early November, CRCA was sending Home Mission teams to three different places across the country. The Church was ‘unleashed’ as God’s power and goodness were displayed through acts of loving service, evangelism, and Biblical teaching. The first team, composed of our Mission Pastor and Evangelism Team, left for the Bassa area to conduct leadership training and extend evangelism work on the theme “Operation Andrew”. Using Gospel video showings of “The Jesus Film” and “The God Story”, the team shared the Good News of Jesus Christ with people deep into the interior and paved the way for the regional conference to happen in Buchanan (Bassa Region) during the first week of 2010.

Another team of about 150 CRCA church members from Monrovia, Peter’s Town, Soul Clinic, and Jawajeh went to help harvest the church rice farm in Tumukolia. The rice farm is one of the agricultural projects that the Tumukolia CRCA church has started to help them be self-sustaining and a blessing to their community. The team enjoyed hard work together in the blazing sun while singing songs of praise to our great God in the various dialects represented. CRCA staff member Dawosu Gayflor, who was part of the team, said “The trip was interesting because not only did we harvest the rice, but we enjoyed time of fellowship and celebration together. Even though it was hard work in the hot sun, we were happy to do it because we consider each other brothers and sisters.” After two days of hard work, the rice was harvested and the Body of Christ was joyfully exhausted. The large number of volunteers and their hard work also served as an evangelistic tool showing the entire Tumukolia community the unity, love, and power of Jesus Christ through His church!

The third team was made up of the combined partnership efforts of CRCA, Samaritan’s Purse, Water of Life, Southside Church in South Carolina, USA, and the church on the ground in Grand Cape Mount County. The mission was to share the love of Jesus with a mostly Muslim community. Pastor and Mother Zubah and the Samaritan’s Purse CHE team laid good spiritual foundation and were happy to receive and work with the teams. Through medical clinics and drilling water wells, the teams were able to serve the communities in Jesus name and plant seeds of truth and hope in the minds of people that need to know who Jesus really is—our Savior, God, and coming King!

Baptism in Jawajeh

In mid-August a plane from the U.S. carried a Water of Life mission team to Liberia. The team members, although just meeting each other for the first time, were bonded in heart as they came to love and serve the Gola people in Jawajeh. They were joined by the Water of Life Liberia team and the hosting CRCA team and travelled to the Jawajeh region. They carried with them equipment and the heart to serve these people in need by providing water wells, medical clinics, evangelistic efforts, and children’s ministry. Despite difficult, muddy roads all of the vehicles and team members arrived safe and ready to work. They were welcomed with open arms.

The water team had a difficult start, but finally hit water in a village called Denyondee and completed the well. As the community received water to drink they were also told about ‘The Water of Life’—Jesus Christ. The medical team also saw God’s hand in the midst of trials as one newborn baby died, and the baby’s mother given fluid intravenously, thereby preserving her life. Another small child was also saved after being rushed to a hospital in the city by two team members. Additional medications were purchased half way through the mission in order to adequately treat the remaining villages.

In the evenings, the “Jesus Film” and the “God Story” videos were shown by the CRCA evangelism team throughout the villages for the purpose of mass evangelism. The Holy Spirit moved and many people put their trust in Jesus. As the team from the states left, many were sad to see them go, but the bonds that form while serving the Lord together will continue throughout eternity!

The short term evangelism efforts in the area were followed up by two CRCA team members, Winston (Evangelism Coordinator) and Jallah (CRCA pastor). The two-man team joined forces with the 15 CRCA pastors and evangelists in the Jawajeh region to carry “Operation Andrew” from village to village proclaiming, like Andrew in John 1, “We have found the Messiah.” This operation lasted for five weeks. The churches were strengthened and encouraged as a result of this work. The team organized prayer meetings, revival services, Gospel centered film showings, and leadership training for pastors and evangelists.

The leaders were taught how to lead small group Bible studies and how to use the chronological Bible storytelling series with visual aids published by New Tribe Ministry and IMB. They worked together with the local pastors and evangelists to set up Bible studies and follow-up with new believers in the nineteen villages. The efforts were fruitful and a baptism service was planned for new brothers and sisters to publicly profess what Jesus has done in their lives.

On October 17, 2009, some CRCA staff members joined the others in Jawajeh for the baptism of 20 new believers! The testimonies were beautiful! One brother, Andrew, told his story; “I grew up in a Muslim home, but the best school in the area was a Christian school. My parents sent me to that school and now, years later, I have become a Christian and want to be baptized.” There was celebration, drum beating, sassa shaking, and dancing through the town as believers walked to and from the baptism site. The rejoicing in the town of Jawajeh served as a true witness and invitation to the community to “Come and see Jesus, the Man who has told us everything!”

Those who intended to be baptized made a circle and held hands and prayed while the rest surrounded them in prayer. The Baptism was followed by a church service encouraging the body of Christ in Jawajeh to continue with “Operation Andrew” in fulfillment of Jesus’ Great Commission to “make disciples”. We eagerly anticipate the next baptism in Jawajeh as these new disciples go and make disciples!

Love from Liberia! It seems that there is always almost too much news to report from Christian Revival Church Association because a lot is happening in a short time, but for that we praise God. We can see the Lord’s handiwork and faithfulness all around us. We are grateful for partners with us in the Great Commission. We have joy and hope in our salvation—knowing we are where God wants us right now and also knowing where we will be for all eternity. We are the clay, He is the Potter; we are the field workers, He is the Master Gardener! And like Jesus said in Luke 10:2, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.”

As we have recently launched “Operation Andrew” (from Andrew’s example and the fruit that God gave from it in John 1:35-51), we have been fervently praying that the Lord would bring more laborers and that He would use us to reach the lost in our individual families and communities and in the community surrounding our church with the Glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ. This operation gets to the very heart of CRCA, and even to the very heart of Jesus, Himself. As His very last words before returning to Heaven, Jesus commanded us to, “Go into all the world and proclaim the Gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15). We are going to share our news in installments, starting with the summer past. I am blessed to have a scribe to take over this challenging job of reporting the wonderful things that God is doing here; and that person is none other than my helpmate—Mrs. Vania Aggrey. Enjoy your first installment of “CRCA CONNECT”…we have given it that name since the goal is to help us stay connected—both for continued prayer and for us all to be able to rejoice and praise God together for what He is doing!

Summer Pains and Gains

Summertime for CRCA was filled with joy and excitement as well as trials and challenges. Starting in early June, we had the joy of dedicating the new CRCA van that was donated by Mount Lebanon Church in Greer, South Carolina. The van has already been useful in transporting people to and from church services and other events; and we see it being very valuable for transporting people during conferences in the future. Then a few weeks following, we were able to commemorate the completion of our Monrovia church building 2^nd floor construction in a day of dedication and celebration. As everybody assembled for prayer before the service, a cross was hung on the building, committing it to God. The building along with the people that worship inside and all of the ministries that take place inside were dedicated to the Lord in a special ribbon cutting ceremony. (The funding for finishing the 2^nd Phase of the long anticipated and much needed church building project were graciously donated by a couple from Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea, AL.)

By God’s grace, 26 people from the Peter’s Town area Christian Revival Church, ranging in age from 24-76, were baptized, boldly professing faith in our Lord. Also, we were blessed through the work and friendship of S.A.N.D. (Don, Lois, & their daughter Rudina Sobkoviak). They brought the love of Jesus and their expertise in agricultural work to share with CRCA churches in the Jawajeh and Konia areas. Seeds and training were given to plant and grow vegetable gardens and there were more than 40 graduates from the training program.

At the end of June, on the very day that Dennis planned to leave for Wisconsin to get ready for his wedding, a great trial came for CRCA. Just after making a withdrawal for ministry purposes, one of our church workers, Dawosu, was robbed at gunpoint and the money for months of ministry (as well as her own personal money and possessions) was stolen. Thankfully, by the grace of God Dawosu was not injured. (To this day we continue to pray and cooperate with the local police as they investigate and ensure us that they are closer to concluding and bringing about justice. Please continue to pray with us in this matter.) Then, only days following the shock and discouragement of the stolen money came a beautiful blessing born in the hearts of many children in Wisconsin. The children of Waushara Community Church’s Vacation Bible School made Liberia their mission partner. They wrote notes of encouragement and sent pictures to the children of Liberia and donated their mission’s money to provide VBS to children in Liberia. The love and the timing of the gift could have only been of God!

In July, there were joyous events for CRCA happening on opposite sides of the ocean. As CRCA women from across Liberia were meeting in the newly open church in Malawu for the annual Women’s Conference, Dennis and Vania were preparing for marriage in Wisconsin, USA. The first ever Women’s Conference in Malawu, a city formerly synonymous with darkness and evil, was a success. What a joy for women from around Liberia to join together for teaching, fellowship, and worship! One of the greatest successes as described by Mrs. Yassah David is “the love that women from rural areas feel when women from Monrovia and around the country come to their home. Many times people from upcountry are looked down upon so the unity that was seen in the conference brought joy and encouragement.” The same way God has transformed Malawu, He has started transformation in the lives of women in Liberia. The theme for this year’s conference was “The Role of Christian Women: in the home, in the community, and in the church”. The teaching really served to illuminate Scripture and encourage the women in their personal lives resulting in many re-dedicating their lives to Jesus Christ.

Meanwhile, in Wisconsin friends and family from across America were assembling in Waushara County on July 18^th to join in the celebration of Dennis and Vania’s wedding. Many family members and friends helped in numerous ways to make the day successful, memorable, and beautiful. The message for the wedding centered on God’s great love for us and how that love relates to husbands and wives. There was celebration and rejoicing as God made two into one!

By August 9^th, the Aggreys were back to

Liberia

and warmly received at the airport with the singing, dancing, and prayers of many Liberian family members and friends. Also, a beautiful Monrovia Wedding Celebration was in the works. The program was complete with a gowning of the couple, gift giving, a lovely dinner, and dancing. The American wedding video was shown for all to watch and everyone enjoyed seeing Americans singing Liberian worship songs. Two hearts and two cultures joined; to God be the glory!

v Goals: CRCA already has churches, preaching points, pastors, and evangelists in 9 towns within the Jawajeh and Yomo Town Regions among the Gola people. This effort will target 15 towns in that region with Jesus Film and other gospel film showings, individual and group evangelism efforts, leadership training, follow-up for new converts, small group Bible study, and discipleship training.

I guess some of you are already aware of our growing pains. Our ministry has been expanding so fast that we have to constantly keep visiting and strengthening our existing work while we are also expanding to new places. Those of you who know me, know that I like to keep my hands on. But it hasn't been so in some of the places lately because I can not be everywhere at all times.

In the Jawajeh region among the Golas we have had some problems with poor leadership. Prayerfully we have sent a team of leaders to go into that region to help strengthen and expand the work. Winston Carmo, our Evangelism Coordinator, and Anthony Jallah (the pastor for the Suehn area) will be spending five weeks among the Golas in the Jawajeh and Yomo Town areas working with the many young pastors and evangelists. They left Saturday and will be returning mid-October. Both of them have their motorbikes, a few supplies, Jesus film equipment, follow-up materials, and enough food to keep them going. Attached is an outline of our activities and strategies for the team. We will be repeating these same activities in November in the Bassa Region and in December in Suehn.

We also want to praise God for the great movement of the Holy Spirit in our Monrovia church. We had three nights of revival (Sept. 2-4) at the church and three Sundays already emphasizing "Operation Andrew" (taken from John 1) to do evangelism in the Monrovia area. We have seen many people visiting and responding to the Gospel as a result of this project.

New frontiers for CRCA

January 2009: CRCA in partnership with one of Dennis’ friends launched into Grand Bassa County to do church planting. Up to May 20, 2009, CRCA has four churches in this county. Our Regional pastor, Brother Oliver Gaye works tirelessly overseeing the work in this area.

April 9-12, 2009: CRCA hosted a prayer conference for the four Grand Bassa churches in Paytoe Town. Two hundred persons from these churches attended. (Pictured: An initiated teenage girl of the Sande society.)

At this prayer conference, eighteen persons were baptized, (12 female and 6 male). We showed the Jesus video in the Bassa dialect and fifteen persons gave their lives to Christ.

The Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes from Samaritan's Purse were also distributed to 140 children. Please continue to pray for our pastors and churches in this region.

Another new frontier in Bomi County among the Gola people is Weakama Town. This is a central village with four surrounding villages. Brother Ronnie Carr and two others lead Bible studies in these five locations.

During April 1-May 10, a storytelling workshop was held in Lofa County in the Lorma dialect, in Bomi County in the Gola dialect, and in Gbarpolu County in the Kpalla dialect. Only seventy-five persons in total were allowed to attend.

The Malawu church construction with four class rooms was completed. We are now trusting God for the funding to help with Peter’s Town church and zinc to roof some of our mud and thatch buildings.
